On Monday 6th August 2012 at 00.49am Humber coastguard the launch of Whitby inshore lifeboat to assist the police with casualty who had waded into the sea from the beach at Battery parade.
The inshore lifeboat launched at 00.56am and arrived on scene to find the casualty up to their chest in the sea. RNLI Whitby inshore lifeboat crew persuaded the casualty onboard and returned him to the beach to the awaiting Police.
The inshore lifeboat returned to RNLI Whitby lifeboat station and was made ready for service again at 1.25am.
