Everybody in Whitby – and many more all around the world – is acutely aware at present that our Harbour, Piers, Pier Extensions, Footbridges and Lighthouses are in a desperate state of dilapidation brought about by many, many years of total negligence.
The focus of this concern has been the closure of the Footbridge linking the West Pier to the West Pier Extension.
Real Whitby, the Whitby Gazette and the FaceBook Group “Save Whitby’s Piers!!” have raised a platform for public expression.
The West Pier falls within the Whitby Town Council Ward of Town North.
