A meeting has been arranged for anyone interested in standing as a candidate in this year’s elections to North Yorkshire County Council.
The meeting will take place at 2pm on Friday 1 March at the Town Hall, St Nicholas Street, Scarborough. Prospective candidates and their agents will be able find out more about the timetable for the election process and arrangements for the count and will be able to pick up a set of nomination papers. The meeting should last no more than an hour.
Anyone wanting to attend should contact the Electoral and Regulation team by emailing: electors@scarborough.gov.ukor calling 01723 232309 to register their interest.
The elections will take place throughout North Yorkshire on Thursday 2 May.

It all sounds really mouth watering, and I shall definitely be attending this, what promises to be, the most important meeting of like minded people, to be gathered together, in one room, since the last draw for the F.A.Cup.

It’s mainly administrative – it’s the best way of communicating the election timetable and regulations with an opportunity for clarification instead of just telling candidates to download the forms and guess things like where the polling stations and count will be, how many observers will be allowed, etc.
