Two weeks ago, Scarborough BC announced plans for a new Council Depot costing £189m – because their current one on Dean Road was too big, and they’d already sold some of the land to Tesco. At the same time, SBC have submitted plans to convert the closed St Nicholas Cliff (which was profitable when the Council closed it some 5 years ago) into a cafe and toilet. So there’s no shortage of cash in SBC then? Shouldn’t this be pointed out to a higher authority – English Heritage, MPs, National Press etc? As cusodians they have a responsibility and legal obligation to maintain listed structures such as the East Pier and Extension.

hi, my best friend is getting married in may and had The Resolution Hotel booked for the reception. is this such a good idea? has anybody been recently to give us an idea of what its like now?

Vincent Pier bollards broken. Changes will be made to parking permits, the parking wardens will have enforcement rights.

The meeting was informed verbally to “forget about it” and that it will be abandoned where it is.

Meanwhile the firm who provided the bollard still runs this clip!

No mention on the Scarborough & Whitby Labour Party web-site of their two candidates for the forthcoming Stakesby Ward bye-election. Could that be because rumours that they are not serious have some truth in them?

There is no place for party politics in Parish Council elections. I am not comfortable with that at all. Local issues should be addressed without reference to the national ‘party line’.

So much for the “free to all homeowners” – my daughter owns her flat which is above a shop, she’s been told that she can’t have cavity wall insulation because the whole building has to be done, and the lower part is business premises.

requiring forensic profiling.why do these people want to
abuse which they find amusing the sick..disabled.i suspect
longstanding.the perpetrators need to be brought to justice.
Hopefully now justice will be seen to be done.bullies!.the
