The dates for the 2013 Bram Stoker International Film Festival are 24th – 27th October, Thursday to Sunday!
Over the last couple of years the Bram Stoker International Film Festival has clearly established itself as a key event in the Whitby cultural calendar. Recognised and reported as one of the best genre festivals anywhere in the World!
Year on year audiences for the Festival have grown, with nearly 5,000 people attending in 2011; attracting visitors from all corners of the World.
BFI and private funding has enabled the Festival to develop an ambitious, high quality contemporary visual arts and performance programme, that has helped the Festival grow in profile and now attracts applications from all over the world.
Alongside this, the Festival’s programme has reached further into the local community and invigorated renewed interest from all sections of the community. We’re proud that in 2011 over 8% of local residents actively participated in the Festival.
From 2012 the Bram Stoker International Film Festival has chosen to support through a series of fundraising initiatives, St Catherine’s Hospice- situated in Scarborough and Whitby. Many large companies in Britain have developed and implemented Corporate Social Responsibility programmes, benefiting the local communities in which they operate resulting in mutually beneficial partnerships. We feel this is a perfect match and offers the opportunity to support a truly worthwhile cause.
Plans are being made for many fundraising events focused during this year’s festival. Which is hoped will financially benefit the St Catherine’s Hospice fundraising team.
